Polish President Andrzej Duda Visits New Britain

On September 22nd, Poland’s president Andrzej Duda and his wife Agata Kornhauser-Duda visited New Britain, CT.

During their historic visit they attended a mass at Holy Cross Church, participated in a wreath-laying ceremony at Sacred Heart Cemetery, visited Central Connecticut State University’s Elihu Burritt Library, and gave a speech in front of a boisterous crowd in New Britain’s Walnut Hill Park.

The PGSCTNE had representation at this memorable event. PGSCTNE president Jonathan Shea attended and shared a few pictures from this proud occasion.

Jeffrey Cymbler, a prominent Polish-Jewish genealogist from New York City with roots in Będzin, and Jonathan Shea await the arrival of Polish Present Andzrej Duda who was on an official state visit to New Britain.
