February 5th 12-2 ET
Researching overseas can be expensive and a trip to the “old country” might not be feasible for some. This does not mean it is impossible to research records in the “old country.”
FamilySearch has microfilmed records all over the world and makes them available on their website. Chris will discuss the most useful features on FamilySearch for eastern European genealogy and demonstrate site navigation while providing tips for searching for records.
Chris Bukoski is currently the Program Chair of the East European Genealogical Society. With the exception of one year, she has been on Council since 2001. In that time, she has been heavily involved with publishing the East European Genealogist (EEG), stepping down a year ago as one of the editors. She has written several articles for the EEG and given a number of presentations to the membership and other organizations.
