Our topic will be “Flavors of Poland – Historic and Culinary Travels through Poland“.
Learn about the traditional food in Poland and its regional differences and similarities, and how geography and politics impacted culinary evolution from the Middle Ages to current times.
Since travel to Poland is still not possible, we hope this “virtual tour” will give you ideas for planning your next in-person visit.

About Our Speaker:
Renata C. Vickrey currently works as the University Archivist, Special Collections and Community Outreach Librarian in the Elihu Burritt Library at Central Connecticut State University (CCSU). She is responsible for the operation of the University Archives, Connecticut Polish American Archives (CPAA) and LGBTQ Archives. She holds an M.A. in Ethnography from the University of Wroclaw and an M.A. in Library Science from Southern Connecticut State University and has extensive archival training at the National Archives in Washington D.C. Renata is a member of the Advisory Board of the Stanislaus A. Blejwas Endowed Chair of Polish and Polish American Studies at CCSU, a member of the New England Archivists (NEA) and a member of the Executive Board of the Polish Institute of Arts and Sciences in America (PIASA).
Ms. Vickrey’s professional interest is the history of Poland and history of Polish immigration.
