Polish Immigration Society of London Records

About the Polish Immigration Society of London Records
Records of immigrants from Eastern Europe passing through London who had contact with the Polskie Towarzystwo Emigracyjne (Polish Emigration Society) are included in this database.
The records provide information such as birthplace, marital status, age, religion, occupation, date of arrival in England, marital status and number of children, address of nearest living family member in Poland, the name of the country to which the individual is intending to go (almost always the USA or Canada) and the address in London where the person resided.
Most of the persons named in these records were transit passengers who, for a myriad of circumstances, sought assistance or advice from the Polish Emigration Society. The bulk of the individuals are ethnic Poles but there is a noticeable number of Lithuanians listed as well.
There is a $2.00 fee for each record request (FREE for Members).
